Green Bay Packers (8-2) at San Francisco 49ers (9-1)

Sunday, November 24, 8:20PM ET

Despite their record, the Green Bay Packers aren’t as good as they seem. Yes, they’ve got an MVP candidate under center and one of the more exciting ground games in the NFL. They’re also going on the road to wage war with one of the league’s most explosive and well-rounded clubs.

The San Francisco 49ers are for real. Despite a couple of recent hiccups (their first loss and a close call in Week 11), they’ve looked the part of a true contender. Jimmy Garoppolo is playing inspired football, he’s got an endless supply of playmakers to throw to, and the ground game is working no matter who’s in the backfield. George Kittle could also be back in Week 12, which would be a definite plus.

To top it off, the 49ers have one of the very best defenses in the NFL right now. You better believe their defensive line will spend all Sunday making Aaron Rodgers uncomfortable. Even if he does his usual thing, I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept him from pulling one of those classic Rodgers outbursts.

Green Bay’s defense isn’t up to the task of slowing all that San Francisco has in its arsenal. They’ll put together a valiant effort, but the 49ers are too talented to be slowed by this slightly overrated Packers squad. The home team gets the W and stays atop the NFC for the time being.

Prediction: 49ers win 31-27
