The Helmet Swing Heard ‘Round the World, Lamar Jackson’s MVP run, Tua Tagovailoa’s injury and more are all fair game in the NFL Notebook for Week 11.

People ask me why I don’t bet on the NFL. Maybe it’s a lack of riskiness, maybe it’s a fear of failure or maybe it’s a little of both. Either way, I’m not the type of person to throw money on a game in hopes of winning more money.

Maybe I should have changed that for Week Eleven. Each week, I play ESPN’s “Pigskin Pick ‘Em,” a basic pick-the-winner concept for NFL games. I do it just for fun, but man was I on fire this weekend.

The only incorrect game I picked was the Jaguars, who lost to the Colts. Again, it’s just something I do in my few minutes of free time; I spend about three seconds before I choose a winner.

What’s the point of me telling you this, aside from a quick moment of selfish pride? As much as you might think, football can never be predicted. You can’t predict the future. It doesn’t matter how many articles you read, statistics you research or “experts” you listen to.

Maybe that’s why there was so much unpredictability to Week Eleven’s slate of games. Who saw the Broncos-Vikings game being must-see TV? Who said the Cardinals would have a better shot at winning than the Texans?

Who predicted that Jeff Driskel would outperform Tom Brady and Deshaun Watson? Did anyone see Philip Rivers leading the Chargers down the field and eventually to their doom… Oh wait, we all did.

It was a memorable week, and here’s what I’m the most focused on:

  • What people aren’t talking about in the Browns-Steelers incident
  • How Lamar Jackson crushed any small doubt (yes, doubt) I had
  • The secret behind Atlanta’s turnaround
  • Another game of “Who Wants a Quarterback?”
  • Coaches on the hot seat
  • Tua Tagovailoa and other quick college football thoughts
  • The celebration of the year
  • Weekly awards and more…

We start with the brawl that no one can stop taking about.
