College Football Corner

While I don’t watch as much Saturday football as I do on Sunday, I still have plenty to say about all the happenings in college football. Here are some quick thoughts…

  • Tua Tagovailoa’s injury is devastating. It’s the same type of injury that ended Bo Jackson careers, though not as severe apparently. I wish him a speedy recovery and hope we get to see him playing football on Sundays in the fall.
  • Never go up 28-3. Baylor found that out the hard way.
  • Major props to Baylor head coach Matt Rhule, though. He rebuilt a program that was ravished. Some NFL teams were interested in Rhule, including the Jets. However, Rhule didn’t want to be in that position and essentially said no. Typical Jets… Anyway, back to college.
  • Bo Nix is not a good quarterback, sorry Auburn. I’ll take Bo Callahan instead.
  • Disappointing (unofficial) end to Minnesota’s season. They could’ve had a real shot at sneaking into the College Football Playoff.
  • Speaking of the playoff, my top four teams in college football now are: 1. LSU, 2. Ohio State, 3. Clemson, 4. Oregon. I can’t justify Georgia being in there when they lost to South Carolina at home. Plus, those Oregon uniforms are beautiful.
  • Justin Herbert is slowly creeping back up draft boards. More on him next…
  • This crazy circus catch from Chris Olave reminds of some random backyard football play, and I’m so here for it.
