1. D.K. Metcalf goes over 100 receiving yards

While Tyler Lockett was removed from Seattle’s Week 10 game thanks to a lower-leg contusion and severe swelling, it looks like the Pro Bowl-caliber receiver will be available against the Eagles. That’s reassuring speculation, especially since Lockett spent a night at the hospital with his leg injury.

Lockett’s presence is key for Metcalf’s success. Teams struggle covering both wide receivers. Lockett, who is averaging 79.3 receiving yards and 6.2 receptions per game, draws a lot of attention. That often leaves Metcalf, a towering 6-4, 229 lbs. speedster with a mismatch.

Despite concerns about his route running entering the season, Metcalf is averaging 59.5 receiving yards and 3.5 receptions per game. He and Lockett are first and second in all three major receiving statistical categories.

Metcalf only has one 100-yard game this season, and it came against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9. Lockett also crossed the 100-yard mark during that game. Metcalf, who is averaging 17 yards per reception, is still mostly a deep passing threat. However, his freakish size and speed make him a unique weapon that few teams can defend.

This late in the season, the Seahawks can start asking more of Metcalf. He’s defied doubters and has built a connection with Wilson. As the Seahawks continue their Super Bowl push, young players can make a significant difference by increasing their roles on the team. Metcalf seems to have that potential.
