2. Ryan, Falcons passing game will continue to thrive

Through 11 weeks, the Falcons passing attack has continued to be the stellar unit that we’ve traditionally seen out of Atlanta for at least the last few years. Coming into the Week 12 contest against Tampa Bay, the Falcons rank 10th in the NFL in total offensive yards per game with 374.8 per contest. Atlanta also ranks ninth in yards per play (5.8), is tied for 18th in touchdowns on offense with 25 and ranks 19th in points per game (22.0).

Specifically in the passing game, the Falcons are first in the league in passing attempts per game (41.0), third in passing yards per game (300.3), fourth in total passing yards (3,003) and are tied for sixth in the NFL in passing touchdowns through the air (20).

When it comes to the veteran quarterback in Matt Ryan, he is off to yet another strong start to the 2019 campaign for Atlanta. Ryan, who has tallied 2,663 yards through the air with 18 touchdowns and nine interceptions, is recording a completion percentage of 69.2 percent while averaging 7.6 yards per pass attempt for the Falcons.

As far as how he ranks among the rest of the quarterbacks throughout the NFL, Ryan enters Week 12 ranking 11th in passing yards, fifth in passing yards per game (295.9), sixth in passing attempts per contest (39.0) and is tied for eighth in touchdown passes (18) so far this year.

With weapons such as Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, Austin Hooper and company in the passing game, along with having the likes of Devonta Freeman able to both run and catch the ball out of the backfield when healthy, it’s really no surprise that Atlanta is dominant on offense once again this season.

On Sunday at home against the Buccaneers, look for Ryan and the passing game to continue to thrive while trying to snag their third win in a row going, even without Hooper and Freeman in the lineup.
