3. Ron Rivera

A few weeks ago, the Carolina Panthers were rightfully considered one of the most dangerous threats in the NFC since Christian McCaffrey is not only playing on a high level, but Kyle Allen was showing hope for being the quarterback of the future over Cam Newton.

This could very well still turn out to be the case, but the Panthers losing two tough games in a row to the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons has put Carolina in a difficult position during the final six games.

With the Panthers sitting at 5-5, Ron Rivera’s team needs every win possible moving forward along with receiving help from other teams to help open the path for one of the Wild Card spots in the NFC.

Since the New Orleans Saints will most likely win the NFC South, Carolina’s best chance of earning a ticket to the postseason will have to come through the Wild Card, and even that is easier said than done.

Rivera has unfortunately seen his name on the hot seat numerous times over the years, and while his seat cooled down from earlier in the year when Carolina started 0-2, the head coach has found his way back into the discussion.

Anything short of the playoffs again will be viewed as a major disappointment for the Panthers, and it’s tough not to wonder if 2019 could finally be the final straw for the Carolina head coach.
