Week 14 vs. Titans

Looking at the rest of the Oakland Raiders’ 2019 schedule, this matchup at home was actually the toughest one to pick. The reason for that is likely because the Tennessee Titans and the Raiders are very similar, not in terms of their style of play, but in that they are imperfect teams that have a proven formula for being an above-average football team.

Since benching Marcus Mariota in favor of starting Ryan Tannehill at quarterback, the Titans have looked much better. Running back Derrick Henry has continued to enjoy a quietly impressive season in the rushing attack while Tannehill has opened up things on that side of the ball simply because he’s willing to take more chances and utilizes weapons like Corey Davis and A.J. Brown.

The Titans have also displayed a strong defensive effort throughout the year, showing a bend-don’t-break style of play on that side of the ball as they’ve given up only 19.7 points per game this season. So, though the Oakland offense has been impressive, they could be held up a little bit in Week 14.

Expect this one to be tightly contested in Oakland. There should be some strong running games on display in this one but the Raiders pass defense is going to prove to be the difference in this matchup. I expect Tannehill to find some seams against the secondary and that will end up being the difference as the silver and black drop their second straight game.

Predicted Outcome: Loss
