Week 15 vs. Jaguars

With Gardner Minshew taking over for Nick Foles early in the season, the Jacksonville Jaguars found a little bit of magic and started getting rolling, the sixth-round rookie quarterback playing well and that translating to the defense and even to the likes of Leonard Fournette. However, even before Foles’ return, that magic had dissipated a bit.

The offense has sputtered over the last two weeks, managing only three points against a shaky Texans defense and then improving to just 13 points in Foles’ return in Week 11 against the Colts. Perhaps more troubling, though, has been the Jaguars’ issues on defense. The pass rush and passing defense have been fine but the run defense has been a disaster.

Houston running back Carlos Hyde rushed for 160 yards on fewer than 20 carries in Week 10 after not having much success all season. Meanwhile, both Marlon Mack and Jonathan Williams — who took over fully for Mack due to injury — rushed for over 100 yards against Jacksonville last week. That’s troubling for the Jags but great news for Josh Jacobs and the Raiders.

It appears that Oakland matches up seamlessly with where the Jaguars are currently having issues right now. The Raiders also get this matchup at home. As such, expect the defense to step up and make plays to slow down the Jags while Jacobs puts the team on his back and carries them to a cruising victory.

Predicted Outcome: Win
