Week 17 at Broncos

Since benching Joe Flacco in favor of the unproven Brandon Allen, the Denver Broncos have actually been far more impressive than you might’ve expected. They welcomed the Cleveland Browns to Mile High in Week 9 and actually submitted a stunningly dominant performance in a win. Then in Week 11 after the bye, they had the Vikings under wraps until a second-half collapse doomed them.

Overall though, the Broncos have been disappointing at every turn this season. They’re just 3-7 on the season and, though the offense has been limited with either Allen or Flacco at the helm, the defense has been the most troubling part of their performance this season. Yes, statistically they’ve not been bad but the eye test has said something else.

When the Raiders and Broncos met in Week 1, Carr threw all over Denver as their offensive line was able to neutralize the pass rush. Meanwhile, Jacobs performed well in his first NFL game and he’s only gotten better since then. And when you get down to it, the Raiders are simply the more talented, better coached team.

A win in Week 17 at Denver should have the Raiders firmly in the playoff mix. A 10-win season should be enough to earn a Wild Card bid in the AFC but, even if it doesn’t, getting double-digit victories is 100 percent more successful than many people expected this team to be in the 2019 season.

Predicted Outcome: Win
Final Record: 10-6
