The Green Bay Packers travel to Levi’s Stadium to take on the San Francisco 49ers in this week’s marquee matchup. Bold predictions for the Pack in Week 12.

For the Green Bay Packers, the biggest game of the season to date is finally here. The Packers head to Santa Clara to face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night in a pivotal Week 12 showdown, where the winner will hold the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC for the time being.

The Packers currently hold the No. 2 seed in the NFC with a record of 8-2, with sloppy losses to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4 and the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9. But no one’s complaining in Titletown at the moment, especially if it means the team is primed for a first-round bye in the playoffs.

The 49ers enter the game with just one loss on their resume (9-1), which came at the hands of Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football two weeks ago. San Fran boasts one of the NFL’s toughest defenses on paper, though it could be argued the club has not yet faced a prolific offense; save for the Seahawks.

Green Bay holds the keys to the kingdom in the NFC, controlling their own destiny from here on out. A statement win in Santa Clara on Sunday night would be the first step to solidifying their master plan.

Though Sunday’s game isn’t a ‘must-win’ by any means, the Packers would gain a huge boost of confidence coming out of the bye week and heading into the home stretch of their schedule. Green Bay faces two lesser opponents in the New York Giants and Washington Redskins in the coming weeks, which means we could very well be looking at an 11-2 team in a few weeks.

But let’s start with the 49ers first. The Packers will need to take care of business on the road to prove they’re true contenders in the NFC. Here are five bold predictions for the Pack in Week 12.
