2. Davante Adams scores his first touchdown of 2019

It’s hard to believe that wide receiver Davante Adams hasn’t caught a touchdown pass this season, but here we are. It becomes a little more believable when taking into account that Adams missed four games earlier this season because of a turf toe injury, but it’s still shocking that one of the NFL’s best red zone weapons has yet to find the end zone in 2019.

But the positive touchdown regression should come soon. In the previous three seasons (45 games), Adams scored 35 touchdowns. He’s averaging 6.5 receptions and 89.5 yards per game this season, elite numbers for the receiver position.

It stands to reason that Adams will find the end zone sooner than later. Sunday against the 49ers would be a great place to start.

While the Niners boast one of the NFL’s best pass defenses, they haven’t necessarily faced an elite receiver like Adams this season. Adams has had success against cornerback Richard Sherman in the past.

He may not post a lot of yardage in Sunday’s game, but it’s likely the Adams will be leaned on in the red zone. The Packers will need their star receiver to come up big when the moments are brightest.
