Dez Bryant, WR

Best Landing Spot: Philadelphia Eagles

It has been approximately 13 months since Dez Bryant last played a down in the NFL. However, according to his own Twitter account, he has recently begun reaching out to teams in an effort to return to football:

The Eagles are a team that has been bitten early and often by the injury bug, having been without DeSean Jackson for all but a few plays since Week 2 and now dealing with the perennial Alshon Jeffrey nagging injury just in time for a critical playoff push.

I’m not saying that Bryant will return to All-Pro form, but I’m pretty sure he can catch a pass.  That’s something that supposed No. 1 wideout Nelson Agholor and the rest of the Eagles receiving corps has struggled with.

Eric Berry, S

Best Landing Spot: Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders are a surprising 6-4, and are currently in second place in the AFC West, trailing behind the Kansas City Chiefs. The stunning turnaround has been mostly credited to an improved Josh Jacobs-led rushing attack. However, their defense has come on in recent weeks as well.

There is concern though that they may lose momentum as they’ve had to place both starting safeties, Karl Joseph and Johnathan Abram (a first-round pick in this year’s draft), on injured reserve. And even their fill-in safety, Lamarcus Joyner, is dealing with injuries.

This may be an ideal time to take a flier on Eric Berry. Berry is an ex-All Pro who is only 31 years old and may be specially equipped to compete with a Kansas City Chiefs team that cut him this offseason. While Berry hasn’t played much football over the past two years, he should still be viewed as a worthy addition to the Raiders’ banged-up secondary.
