2. Crosby stays white hot with 3 sacks

Maxx Crosby burst into the national football consciousness with an epic game against the now 0-10 Cincinnati Bengals. Crosby absolutely harassed rookie quarterback Ryan Finley by sacking him four times and recording four tackles for a loss. Against a Jets team with a bad offensive line, look for Crosby to have another big game.

The defense has been solid for Oakland in 2019, mostly. Against New York, the Raiders D will have a lot of opportunities to pad the stat sheet against an offensive line that sits at 26th in the ESPN Pass Block Win Rate metric.

While Darnold has been playing well, it was against two teams who have combined for three wins. This isn’t to say Darnold might not find some success against a Raiders defense, but over the course of four quarters, he’ll need to prove better than beating the Redskins and the Giants.

The only fly in the ointment is the poorly timed penalties. Oakland has generated 46 defensive penalties, including nine for pass interference. In a game on the road, those can be devastating.

Lack of discipline aside, Crosby will make another significant impact. As the Raiders head towards a mega clash next week in Kansas City, taking of business in New York comes first.
