Atlanta Falcons: Studs and duds vs. Buccaneers in Week 12
With the Atlanta Falcons falling to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12 of the regular season, here are three studs and duds from the contest.
The Atlanta Falcons returned home on Sunday afternoon in Week 12 of the 2019 season riding a season-long winning streak following a pair of impressive victories. Atlanta welcomed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers into Atlanta on Sunday, the third straight divisional opponent that the Falcons have faced in the last three weeks.
In the contest, however, Atlanta saw its winning ways come to an end against Tampa Bay, falling to the Buccaneers, 35-22, to drop its eighth game of the 2019 campaign.
The Falcons jumped out to an early lead at home but that lead didn’t last very long in Atlanta. The Falcons opened the contest up by holding a 10-7 advantage after one quarter, but the Buccaneers quickly responded to regain the lead and ultimately take the contest on the road.
Tampa Bay outscored Atlanta 12-0 in the second quarter to carry a 19-10 lead going into halftime while outscoring the Falcons 16-12 the rest of the way to snag a 13-point win.
With the win, the Buccaneers improved to 4-7 on the year and jumped back in front of the Falcons for third place in the division. Tampa Bay remains behind the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints in the division standings, however.
In the defeat, the Falcons saw their two-game winning streak come to a halt while falling to 3-8 overall on the season. Atlanta moves down to fourth place in the division, trailing the Buccaneers, Panthers and Saints ahead of it.
Atlanta will remain at home next weekend in the Week 13 slate of games around the NFL, hosting its fourth straight divisional contest when New Orleans comes into Atlanta to try and get its revenge on the Falcons from a few weeks ago.
With Atlanta seeing its winning streak come to an end in Week 12 on Sunday afternoon back at home, let’s look back at three studs and duds from the contest for the Falcons in the loss.
