3. New England Patriots (3)

For the second week in a row, the New England Patriots barely put up any points on offense, and yet it still didn’t matter since the defense stepped up when it needed the most.

One week after handing the Philadelphia Eagles a 17-10 loss in front of their own fans, the Patriots found a way to defeat the Dallas Cowboys 13-9 to remain on top of the AFC standings for at least one more week.

Since the Baltimore Ravens currently hold the tiebreaker at the moment over New England for head-to-head matchup, every win moving forward is going to be extremely important for the Patriots in order to hang on to that No. 1 seed for the playoffs.

Even if the argument can be made that New England’s offense would have looked much better if the weather conditions weren’t so sloppy, there’s obviously no reason to be concerned over what this team can accomplish come playoff time.

If anything, the recent struggles on offense by the Patriots will most likely be used by Tom Brady to make sure this team is ready for when it really matters the most in less than two months from now.

This is always easier said than done, but just about every football fan has witnessed what has happened before when doubt begins to surround New England.
