Stud: Devonta Freeman

Devonta Freeman returned to the field finally after missing the last few contests while battling back from an injury, and led the way for the Falcons rushing attack throughout the course fo the contest.

Freeman finished the game with 51 yards rushing on the ground on a team-best total of 17 rushing attempts. Overall as a team, Atlanta finished with 26 carries for a total of 89 yards rushing on the ground against New Orleans.

Although his final stats weren’t spectacular, the fact that Freeman made his return to the field for the Falcons in Week 13 and was able to lead the efforts on the ground for Atlanta was a positive.

Dud: First-half production

From the start of the game, it felt like Atlanta fell behind New Orleans at Mercedes Benz Stadium. To begin the contest, the Falcons had a punt blocked by the Saints that immediately shifted the momentum in the game that swayed in favor of the road team.

New Orleans ended up grabbing a 17-9 lead following the first two quarters of action and Atlanta wasn’t able to catch back up and close that gap by the end of the night.
