Stud: Younghoe Koo

Although Atlanta wasn’t able to pull out the win at home, it made things very interesting at the end of the contest on Thanksgiving night while trying to battle back into the matchup and erase the New Orleans lead in the fourth quarter.

In the final handful of minutes in the final frame, Koo and the Falcons special teams group recovered a total of three consecutive onside kicks in the late-game comeback attempt, while only two of the onside kicks counted as one was called back due to an offsides penalty.

With about 3:30 remaining in the game, the Falcons recovered the first onside kick that resulted in them driving down the field and tallying a quick field goal that pushed the game down to a one-possession contest.

With just under two minutes to go, Atlanta recorded another onside kick recovery but was ultimately unable to get anything out of it.

Yes, the Falcons ended up losing the game at the end of the night, but their performance late in the game was certainly entertaining to watch and made things very interesting in the final minutes.

Dud: Home record in 2019

In the loss to New Orleans, Atlanta dropped to 1-5 on the season at home in games at Mercedes Benz Stadium, which is the first time that the Falcons will end up finishing the regular season schedule below the .500 mark at home in the last handful of seasons.

Annually, Atlanta has been fairly dominant in front of its home crowd but the 2019 campaign has been another story and is just another storyline in what has become a very disappointing season for the Falcons.
