San Francisco 49ers vs. Baltimore Ravens: 5 Bold predictions for Week 13
The San Francisco 49ers visiting the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13 could be a Super Bowl preview. Five bold predictions for this huge matchup on Sunday.
Particularly as of late, the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers have looked like two of the best teams in the NFL for the 2019 season. Every time that Lamar Jackson and the Ravens or Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers look as if they may be truly tested, they’ve stepped up to the plate and delivered a statement win. Now they have that chance again as they face one another in Week 13.
Squaring off in Baltimore, a matchup between the 49ers and Ravens could very well be a preview of Super Bowl LIV. In their current forms, you have one of the most dominant defenses in the league (San Francisco) trying to stop one of the most dynamic offenses the league has seen in quite some time (Baltimore). For what it’s worth, the flip-side for each team hasn’t been too shabby either.
This is truly a titanic matchup between viable contenders on Sunday in Week 13. But what will transpire at M&T Bank Stadium when these two NFL behemoths go toe-to-toe? Here are five bold predictions for the San Francisco 49ers vs. Baltimore Ravens matchup.
5. 49ers held without a sack
One of the biggest factors in the 2019 surge for the 49ers and their defense in particular has been their front seven. With the additions of Nick Bosa and Dee Ford (though Ford has been banged up), the vision for this group in the trenches has been realized under defensive coordinator Robert Saleh this season.
Between Bosa, DeForest Buckner, Arik Armstead and the host of bodies the Niners have, they have been pressuring opposing quarterbacks consistently and at a high level. Having said that, the Ravens offensive line has been one of the most effective groups in the NFL this season, even if Jackson has been sacked 20 times this season, which isn’t all on the line.
On top of that, the mobility of Jackson is something that San Francisco’s front simply hasn’t seen because it’s unmatched in the NFL. Thus, even when they get pressure through the Baltimore front, Jackson has the ability to escape it and still make a play.
That’s going to happen time and again to the 49ers on Sunday in Week 13. While they’ll break through and have the opportunities to make plays on a number of occasions, they won’t be able to bring down Jackson behind the line of scrimmage. Instead, San Francisco will be held without a sack on the road.
