3. Redskins

Bill Callahan certainly deserves some credit for helping the Washington Redskins show some life in recent weeks, but in the long run, the team seems to know he is far from the answer as their head coach.

The Redskins were the first team to pull the trigger on firing their head coach in 2019 after making the tough decision a few months back to move on from Jay Gruden after Washington got off to a horrendous 0-5 start.

Due to their organization in general appearing to be a mess, Washington may not seem like the most intriguing land spot for a coach in need of a job like Rivera, but also this is another interesting situation with the potential surrounding the defense.

One of the main reasons behind the belief the Redskins could emerge as a surprise playoff contender in 2019 before it all went downhill was due to the defense looking strong at times the season before.

With the right pieces on top of Dwayne Haskins hopefully taking a major step in the right direction in 2020, this scenario could be better for Rivera than originally expected, even if the Redskins seem like the last team anyone wants to end up with at the moment.
