The Chicago Bears host the Dallas Cowboys in an attempt to keep their faint playoff hopes alive. To do so, these players need to step up and shine.

Just a few weeks ago, after another frustrating loss to the Los Angeles Rams, the Chicago Bears‘ playoff hopes were all but dashed. They had a one percent chance of making the playoffs. This week, after winning two consecutive games, their chances now stand at a whopping three percent.

Yes, that means a lot of things have to go right for the Bears to have an opportunity to get it done, most notably likely having to win out (especially difficult when facing the Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Minnesota Vikings). A chance is a chance, though, and as long as they aren’t eliminated there is hope.

The task begins this week on a Thursday night at Soldier Field. The weather forecast calls for temperatures in the 30’s so that should help the Bears.

Both teams are desperate for a win. They each have a 6-6 record, but the Cowboys are in a better position since they are in the NFC Least, I mean the NFC East. The Philadelphia Eagles are in second place, but they have a 5-7 record so the Cowboys are still in a position to win the division. The Bears, of course, are in the NFC North, with the 9-3 Packers leading the way and the 8-4 Vikings holding on to the final Wild Card spot.

Neither team has done well against teams with winning records. The Cowboys haven’t beaten a team with a winning record while the Bears beat just one team with a winning record. They both want to get over the .500 mark and make some noise in the tough NFC.

The Bears need to continue to make plays. They did enough to beat two losing teams, but hopefully those wins serve as a jump-start for them. They need to win to keep whatever hopes they have alive. For that to happen, these players need to step up and shine.
