Eddie Jackson, Safety

The first two seasons of Eddie Jackson‘s career have been incredible. He recorded eight interceptions, with three of them run in for touchdowns. He also had eight forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries, with two of those run in for touchdowns.

While he’s had a good 2019 season, it hasn’t been as dominant as his first two seasons. He just got his first interception at the end of last week’s game against the Lions. He also has a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He is on pace to come close to his career-high in tackles, however. Through 12 games, he has 50 tackles, 20 away from his high of 70.

Under pressure, Prescott will allow a defense to get a turnover. While he leads the league in passing yards with 3,788 yards, he also has 11 interceptions, two short of his career-high of 13. The Bears defense, Jackson especially, need to take advantage of that. If the frontline players do their jobs on Elliott, then Prescott will need to throw more. That bodes well for the Bears’ defense.

Hopefully, Jackson’s interception gets him back on the turnover track. If he can get another turnover or two, he helps give the offense a short field, making it easier to score touchdowns. This is the formula that helped the Bears win 12 games last season. If they do it again, the Bears may not make the playoffs but they’ll end the season on a high note and hopes for next season.

Jackson is one of the leaders on defense. He needs to step up in this game to help the Bears come away with an important win.
