Anthony Miller, Wide Receiver

Miller is having an up and down 2019 season. He only had 4 catches for 28 yards in the first four games. He improved during the next three games, accumulating 12 catches for 183 yards, but then had just one catch for seven yards in the next two games.

In the past three weeks, Miller is hot again, probably the hottest he’s been this season. He has 21 catches for 271 yards, averaging 12.9 yards per catch. His last game was the best in his career, making nine catches for 140 yards. His yards were the most by a Chicago Bears receiver, eclipsing Allen Robinson‘s 131 yards in Week 12.

Miller needs to continue his hot streak. Taylor Gabriel likely won’t play this week. Even when he comes back, we don’t know how he’ll play. The Bears need another receiver to perform alongside Robinson. The Lions tried to take Robinson out of the game last week, daring Miller to make big plays. He responded and made huge plays.

When Miller is playing well, it takes the pressure off Robinson. Even with the pressure on him, he still managed to finish with eight catches for 86 yards and a touchdown. Now the Cowboys will have to account for Miller, giving Robinson more space to operate.

Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky needs to have as many weapons as possible. He already misses having his tight ends as his security blanket. He did find Jesper Horsted in the end zone against Detroit, though. If he has two receivers making big catches, perhaps Horsted gets an opportunity for another touchdown.

The only thing that Miller hasn’t done is score touchdowns. Last season, he led rookie receivers with seven touchdown catches. He has yet to find the end zone this season. If he does score against the Cowboys, it will go a long way to helping the Bears get a much-needed victory.
