An Apology to Josh Allen

I would like to apologize to Josh Allen for doubting him.

Entering his rookie season, I knew Allen looked great half of the time and looked terrible for the other half. I knew he had a big arm, though his best asset was his legs. Heading into this season, I was dubious to think that Allen could become more accurate. Watching him tear up the Cowboys with both his arms and his legs made me realize that he might be for real.

With that out of the way, Allen really did make some impressive plays against Dallas, including some super accurate darts. Some people (myself included) pegged him as a runner who needs to improve his passing. Consider it improved.

He definitely has a way to go; the 27th best completion percentage isn’t going to cut it. However, Allen’s shown that he’s capable of leading a Buffalo team that has surprised many. His running ability certainly helps; he has the third-most rushing yards among all quarterbacks.

Allen’s no Lamar Jackson (who’s 63 yards from breaking Michael Vick’s single-season rushing record for quarterbacks), but Allen is enough to carry the Bills into the postseason.
