NFC Divisional Round

3 Green Bay Packers at 2 Seattle Seahawks

Few teams have shown more over the past three weeks than the Seahawks, which is why they’ve played their way into the No. 2 seed in the NFC. This isn’t the Pete Caroll teams of old that win with defense but rather Russell Wilson and a high-powered offense have been surging to make plays against almost any defense they see. And the Packers defense may not have many answers for them, particularly the duo of Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny.

While that may be so, it still feels to me as if Seattle is playing over their head and the Packers are playing below their potential. Green Bay can score easily on the Seahawks and the pass rush led by Za’Darius Smith can make things difficult for Wilson and the Seattle offense. Perhaps it’s somewhat misplaced faith in a rollercoaster Pack but give me Aaron Rodgers to pull out the win here.

Winner: Packers

5 San Francisco 49ers at 1 New Orleans Saints

Seemingly quietly, the Saints have climbed into the No. 1 seed in the NFC and are just going about their business as they eye the NFL Playoffs. Drew Brees and Michael Thomas are humming and, though Alvin Kamara has not been as dynamic of a weapon as many hoped he’d be, the defense has shown they can play at a high level.

While that may be true, the 49ers play a brand of football that seemingly could disrupt New Orleans’ style. The Saints are quite a finesse team while the Niners want to punch you in the mouth until you can’t get up off the mat. In the postseason, even in the Superdome, I prefer what the 49ers bring to the table and think they can pick up the win.

The good news: We’ll figure out just how close this matchup is as these two teams play in Week 14.

Winner: 49ers
