19. Minshew leads Jaguars to first win since October

In what turned out to be one of the biggest surprises from Week 13, the Jacksonville Jaguars decided to bench the struggling Nick Foles against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the hope that rookie Gardner Minshew would provide a needed spark to the offense.

And if that didn’t seem surprising enough, the Jaguars also announced this week that Minshew would in fact be the starter for the remainder of the 2019 season, leaving many wondering what the future holds for Foles in Jacksonville.

The problem with Foles is if the Jaguars do decide to move on from the former Super Bowl MVP, it’s going to come at a hefty price with all that guaranteed money in his contract.

But since Jacksonville has a bit of time before having to officially figure out this problem, the main focus at the moment is Sunday’s game against another struggling team in the Los Angeles Chargers.

Since Minshew now finds himself in an unexpected situation to prove himself worthy of being the starter of the future in Jacksonville, all eyes will be on the rookie to see if he can find some of the magic from earlier in the year to help the Jaguars win for the first time since October.

This will obviously be easier said than done going against a tough defense in the Chargers, but luckily Minshew has nothing to lose the rest of the way.
