The Denver Broncos are headed to Houston to take on the Texans in Week 14 and these players must step up if Vic Fangio’s team is to topple the AFC South leaders.

Coming off a thrilling 23-20 victory over their divisional rival Los Angeles Chargers, the 4-8 Denver Broncos look to play spoiler in Week 14. It certainly won’t be easy on the road, against an 8-4 Texans team. Although Denver will likely miss the playoffs this season, this game could show where the team stands against elite competition.

It will be on the shoulders of rookie quarterback Drew Lock. He got off to a hot start last week, leading the team to a 14-0 advantage in the first quarter, but he was ultimately held in check throughout the remainder of the contest.

Lock finished with 134 passing yards, a 64 percent completion rate, a pair of touchdowns and an interception in his NFL debut. It’s safe to say that more will be expected out of the young gunslinger this week.

Houston has won four of their last five, and handed the Patriots their second loss, on Sunday night. Their star-studded offense, led by Deshaun Watson and DeAndre Hopkins, will undoubtedly be tough to contain. Denver will need to be up for the challenge when they head into NRG Stadium.

The Broncos have an awful 1-5 record on the road this year, but their defense can certainly keep them in this one. They’ve only allowed one team over thirty points this season, and they tend to keep it close with most of their opponents — five of their losses have been decided by one possession.

With that being said, here are the players that will need to shine in Week 14.
