2. Marcus Davenport

When the Saints traded up to draft Marcus Davenport in 2018, we were all scratching our heads. At first, it seemed like a bad move. But as the Saints have proven time and time again, there’s a method to their madness.

While Davenport struggled with injuries last season, it is clear that he saw 2019 as his redemption tour. Thankfully, Davenport has lived up to the hype and so much more this season.

Davenport is by no means the best defensive end on the field for New Orleans but he makes his presence known. Last week against the Falcons, Davenport had two sacks, two forced fumbles and four total tackles. It was a good game for Davenport and it showed that he was worth his price tag.

This second game against Atlanta was Davenport’s best outing yet and it can only go up for here. He’s been slowly but surely improving and that’s why I think he’s going to be a factor in the 49ers game.

While the 49ers offense has been pretty solid, the Saints defensive front is one of the best in football. Davenport is going to put the pressure on Jimmy G and cause him to make some costly mistakes.

Paired up with Cameron Jordan, the two are going to make sure that Garoppolo hits the field at least twice. Right now, Davenport is playing like a first-round pick and facing off against the 49ers is going to be the ultimate game for him.
