DT. Indianapolis Colts. Javon Kinlaw. 19. player. 46.

People might look at the recent struggles of the Indianapolis Colts and call it regression to the mean. While that may be a small part of it, the simple truth about this team is that they’ve had awful luck as it pertains to injury. A team that had to roll with Jacoby Brissett after Andrew Luck retired is now losing one playmaker after another to injury and that’s hard for any franchise to withstand and still succeed.

A new quarterback or upgrading the wide receiver corps were options here, more pressingly the latter given how bad this offense looks without T.Y. Hilton. Instead, they take a great value in Javon Kinlaw to put on a defensive line that needs a player of his ilk. South Carolina’s big man on the line has been as good as advertised in 2019, if not better, showing out as a game-wrecker that lives in opposing backfields and can up the pressure that Indianapolis’ line brings.

20. player. 59. . EDGE. Miami Dolphins. A.J. Epenesa

Pick via Steelers

At one point earlier in the season, it appeared that the Miami Dolphins might be looking at two top-10 picks as the Steelers traded for Minkah Fitzpatrick after losing Ben Roethlisberger. And yet, they enter Week 14 as the second Wild Card team out of the AFC, against all odds. Even still, the Dolphins get a bit of fortune as a potential game-changer for their defense falls to them with the No. 20 pick in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft.

A.J. Epenesa had a quiet start to the season statistically but really came on at the end of the year to showcase that he’s still a force coming off of the edge. He’s a mammoth man that offers the versatility and luxury of moving him inside if needed but can be a defensive end in the 4-3 front in Miami that can generate pressure on opposing quarterbacks, which is a nice building block for this team under Flores.
