. WR. Washington Commanders. CeeDee Lamb. 9. player. 58

Andrew Thomas and Tristan Wirfs coming off of the board is not what the Washington Redskins want to see. As it appears that Trent Williams’ time in the nation’s capital — or at least playing a down for this team — is done, they need to hit reset at left tackle. However, they might be better served doing that at another time in the draft. Thus, they give Dwayne Haskins another option by taking CeeDee Lamb in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft.

Terry McLaurin has been impressive in his rookie season with the Redskins but there is little else about the Washington pass-catchers that inspires you. Lamb cures that as a versatile player that also complements McLaurin well. The Oklahoma standout can be a 50-50 threat but is also dangerous in the open field when he has the ball in his hands. He’s a multi-faceted weapon that can help jumpstart a young offense.

. QB. Miami Dolphins. Tua Tagovailoa. 10. player. 59

Tua Tagovailoa is the wild card of the 2020 NFL Draft. With his hip injury that ended his season this year, there is no guarantee that he even elects to leave Alabama. And while he’s projected to make a full recovery from his injury, it’s a serious enough occurrence that NFL teams are surely going to be wary about potentially taking him. For my money, though, he’s still the guy for the Miami Dolphins.

Brian Flores is clearly the right man to guide the Dolphins in a new direction considering what he’s done with such a talent-depleted roster this season. However, the future starts at quarterback and, given a full recovery, Tagovailoa can be the right man. He has elite accuracy and decision-making to go with leadership and playmaking you want to build a team around. The Dolphins take the risk and still get their guy in the top 10.
