Unless they win the Super Bowl, the Dallas Cowboys are all but guaranteed to have a new coach in 2020. This 7-round mock draft helps that coach build up their roster.

This is one of the weirdest seasons in recent memory for the Dallas Cowboys. They entered the year with high hopes after they made it into the second round of the playoffs the prior campaign — which was remarkable considering their 3-5 start.

There was even more hype considering they had Amari Cooper on the team to start the year after adding him midway through the season in 2018. He had already helped open up their passing game so thinking about what he could do with an entire offseason of work had fans pumped.

Also getting fans excited was the fact that offensive coordinator Scott Linehan was no longer with the team. There were mixed reviews on Kellen Moore, who was replacing him, but Linehan had worn out his welcome due to the over-use of jumbo packages and insanely predictable play-calling.

That hype seemed justified as they jumped out to a 3-0 start and Moore earned the praise of the entire fanbase. But then, disaster struck. The Cowboys started dropping games and the play calls got more and more Linehan-esque. In addition to that, the defense completely fell apart as Rod Marinelli’s swiss cheese scheme started to get shredded.

Over the last 10 games, they’re 3-7 which has them at 6-7 overall. However, they’re still in first place since the NFC East is terrible this season. That means they could still make the playoffs, but it seems clear that Jason Garrett and his staff need to win it all in order to keep their jobs.

With all that being said, we look ahead to next season with this 7-round 2020 mock draft which will be all about adding talent for a new coaching staff.
