The other position defined as a need heading into the 2019 NFL Draft was tight end. However, Dallas decided they were good since Jason Witten decided to return from his one-year retirement. While he has been better than some expected, Witten is far from a big threat at the position.

Blake Jarwin could end up being a starter but the staff continues to rely on Witten, who does nothing after the catch. With Jarwin hitting free agency in the offseason, the team would be wise to see if he can be the guy, but so far they have not given him the chance.

Whatever ends up happening there, they need more youth and talent at the position, which they land here in Hunter Bryant. The Washington tight end has 825 yards this season and for his career, he’s averaging 16.4 yards per reception.

His issue has been durability, which is why he slides into the third-round. Still, he played in 12 games this season after suiting up for just 14 the prior two seasons of his career. That makes him worth the risk.

Robert Quinn is a free agent after this season and cap space is scarce as Dallas is content to set the market for all their free agents after claiming they won’t set the market for all their free agents. They do have Randy Gregory under contract for several more seasons but no one knows if he will ever play again. Tyrone Crawford could also be out the door as his price tag is high and he’s coming off an injury.

With all that going on, the Cowboys need to add edge rusher. Khalid Kareem is a potential mid-round add with a lot of upside. The Notre Dame pass rusher had 107 career tackles and 12 sacks in three seasons. He won’t be asked to start right away but can provide some depth for Dallas.
