4. Doug Marrone

One can only imagine how different this season would have been for the Jacksonville Jaguars if Nick Foles didn’t suffer an injury all the way back in Week 1.

And while there’s a good chance the Jaguars decide to give it another go with Doug Marrone in 2020, this will most likely continue to be a popular discussion over the final three weeks.

For example, instead of sticking it out with Foles for the remainder of the season, Marrone and the Jaguars decided to finish the year out with rookie Gardner Minshew to see if this would provide some sort of spark to the offense.

Like most rookies, Minshew is clearly a work in progress, and his struggles against the Los Angeles Chargers last weekend will back this claim up.

The fact that Jacksonville went all-in on Foles in the offseason only to be in position to possibly move on from the former Super Bowl MVP in 2020 shows how messy of a situation things are with the Jaguars.

Marrone certainly doesn’t deserve all of the blame since injuries to players like Foles are out of his control, but his decision making could still come under fire, and put Jacksonville in a difficult decision when it comes to whether he’s worth keeping around.
