2. Pat Shurmur

Remember back at the beginning of October when the New York Giants appeared to be a potential sleeper contender in the NFC?

After making the surprise decision to make the switch from Eli Manning to Daniel Jones, the last thing football fans expected was to see the rookie quarterback start his NFL career off with a 2-0 record.

All of a sudden, New York seemed to have found all sorts of new momentum that would result in the team performing better than originally expected in 2019.

Turns out, this 2-0 start by Jones would end up being the last time the Giants would win games, as the team is coming off their ninth loss in a row after falling to the Philadelphia Eagles in overtime Monday night.

Not even the switch back to Manning while Jones deals with an ankle injury was good enough to get New York out of their funk from the last few months, and while Pat Shurmur could receive some benefit of the doubt as well, a fresh start may be best for both parties.

Clearly, Shurmur has taken a major step back during his second season as head coach with the Giants, and with a bunch of young talent to work with on offense moving forward, New York can’t afford to allow another year go to complete waste.
