Stud: Marquise Brown

As mentioned, Lamar Jackson spread the ball around quite a bit against New York while wide receiver Seth Roberts and tight end Mark Andrews led the way in receiving. However, I’m giving rookie wideout Marquise Brown the “Stud” nomination because he was able to bounce back for a solid outing after really being disappointing in the previous two games.

Prior to Thursday night, Brown’s last two games saw him catch four balls for -1 yards. He was virtually a non-factor in the offense and he didn’t let that narrative weigh him down against the Jets. Catching all four of his targets, Brown had 45 receiving yards and a gorgeous toe-drag touchdown that really cemented the Ravens’ dominance in this matchup. It was a good rebound game for a young player that’s clearly bursting with natural talent.

Dud: Defense Coasting

There were very few moments on Thursday night when the Ravens were not in control. The offense had no match from the Jets defense and the offense, when Baltimore was engaged, could not get anything going. However, it was a little disappointing to see some lapses from the Ravens when they did not have the ball in their possession.

Whether it was Jamison Crowder making plays with two touchdown passes, allowing Le’Veon Bell to have one of his best rushing games of the season or simply not getting ample pressure on Sam Darnold, the Ravens left some big opportunities on the table when on defense. While it’s hard to blame them for coasting in such a lopsided matchup, it’s still going down as a dud for how starkly it contrasts to most of the rest of what Baltimore did in Week 15.
