18. Atlanta Falcons (23)

Thrilling is probably the best way to describe Sunday’s win by the Atlanta Falcons over the San Francisco 49ers after Matt Ryan found Julio Jones with just seconds left in regulation for the go-ahead touchdown.

With the 49ers playing this one at home, the Falcons seemed like they would be in for a long afternoon in this one, but this shows the kind of fight Atlanta has left in them, and could even save Dan Quinn’s job.

For the second year in a row, the Falcons will be watching the playoffs from home, and one of the most unfortunate popular topics of discussion over the last few months has been whether Atlanta would be better off with someone besides Quinn.

Most head coaches would love to have the kind of talent Quinn get to work with on the Falcons, which is part of the reason why the results from the last two years have been so frustrating.

One win over a strong contender in the 49ers isn’t going to save Quinn’s job for 2020, but with Atlanta now winning four of their last six games, maybe this will make the Falcons give the head coach one final chance next season to prove himself.
