6. San Francisco 49ers (2)

Down the road, Week 15 could be one of those games in which the San Francisco 49ers are haunted by in the final standings since Sunday’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons dropped Kyle Shanahan’s team from the top overall seed to a Wild Card spot.

After going on the road the week before and making another statement by defeating the New Orleans Saints, a home matchup with the Falcons seemed like a dream scenario for the 49ers.

All due respect to Atlanta since this was clearly far from the case, but with Dan Quinn’s job in question as a result of the Falcons being one of the biggest disappointments in 2019, this should have resulted in a favorable win for the 49ers.

Instead, San Francisco will be facing even more pressure two weeks from now in what is expected to be an epic Week 17 showdown against Seattle that determines which team will be off the first weekend in January, and which team could have home-field advantage in the playoffs.

The 49ers will still be considered one of the most dangerous threats in the NFC regardless come playoff time, but losing to the Falcons the way they did in the final seconds hurts big time.
