The Indianapolis Colts late-season stretch has shown they still have work to do and they get some done in the 2020 NFL Draft with this 7-round mock draft.

When the Indianapolis Colts picked up a 20-point win over Jacksonville in Week 11, they moved to 6-4 on the season and appeared primed to make an improbable run at the playoffs. Since that game, however, Frank Reich‘s club has failed to win a game, most recently getting blown out by New Orleans on Monday Night Football in Week 15 to drop to 6-8 on the season.

Though Jacoby Brissett and the Colts remain mathematically alive to make the playoffs, it’s a longshot that will happen at this point. More or less, it’s now time to start preparing for the offseason and what this franchise is going to do moving forward. Namely, they must look at what they will do at quarterback and how they will work to shore up other holes on the roster.

Over the course of the season, we’ve seen some good things from Brissett after he was put in a tough spot and facing a ton of pressure with Andrew Luck‘s surprise retirement midway through the preseason. But whether or not the Colts look to roll past the 2019 season with him at quarterback, bring in a veteran in free agency or take another in the 2020 NFL Draft (or a combination of these) remains to be seen.

Beyond the questions at quarterback, the Colts very much need to address the issue at wide receiver. Right now, it’s T.Y. Hilton and a group of guys that it’s difficult to feel confident in if you have to rely on them. There are also holes on defense as the defensive line needs starter-level players coming in and the secondary could use some reinforcements as well.

Put simply, general manager Chris Ballard has some work to do in the 2020 NFL Draft to continue his remarkable work in giving a downtrodden franchise a facelift, which has worked quite well to this point. And after a tough loss to the Saints, it feels like a good time to see what the Colts can do to achieve that with a mid-December seven-round mock draft.
