Green Bay Packers (11-3) at Minnesota Vikings (10-4)
Monday, December 23, 8:15PM ET
There is plenty on the line on Monday night when the Minnesota Vikings host the Green Bay Packers for the second and final time of 2019. It’s a potential Wild Card round matchup that could have significant implications for the NFC North division as a whole.
If the Vikings win, they open the door for them to steal the NFC North crown. They would need to win again in Week 17 and the Packers would need to lose, but you get the point. If the Packers win, the division is theirs and the Rams’ hopes of stealing the No. 6 seed remain intact.
Luckily for Minnesota, it looks like they have the slightest of edges in Week 16. Their offense is rolling right now, and it’s believed Dalvin Cook will be ready to go despite suffering a shoulder injury on Sunday. Kirk Cousins has been among the NFL’s best quarterbacks recently, and the Minnesota defense should enjoy plenty of opportunities to hunt Aaron Rodgers.
Don’t get me wrong — Green Bay will do everything in their power to get the win. Rodgers will do his usual thing, and Aaron Jones may give the Minnesota defensive front fits. In the end, though, the Vikings will retain their standing as the only team in the NFL still undefeated at home.
Prediction: Vikings win 24-21
