Buffalo Bills (10-4) at New England Patriots (11-3)

Saturday, December 21, 4:30PM ET

It’s not often the New England Patriots lose at Gillette Stadium, especially to an AFC East opponent. However, based on the way these two teams are playing, I’m getting the sense the Buffalo Bills could pull off the unthinkable in Week 16.

The wins keeping piling up for this Bills team, which continues to turn heads this season with its outstanding defense and tenacity under pressure. They pulled off a big win on Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and need another win against the Patriots if they have any hope of stealing the division crown out from under Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.

So let’s go for broke and say it happens. The Buffalo defense does its job, shutting down a suddenly struggling Brady. They don’t completely put the clamps on New England’s offense, but they keep this matchup from becoming an offensive showcase. That puts the pressure on Josh Allen to deliver, which he does yet again in the clutch.

It’s a low-scoring affair, with neither club enjoying much success on offense. When the final whistle blows, though, the Bills own a slim lead and are suddenly in position to rob the Patriots of the division title for the first time since 2008.

Prediction: Bills win 16-14
