NFL Week 16, 2019: 5 Coaches on the hot seat

2. Anthony Lynn
After an impressive run in the playoffs last year that resulted in a trip to the Divisional Round, the Los Angeles Chargers were expected to pick up where they left off in 2019 as one of the top contender in the AFC.
Instead, this season can best be described as a disappointment for the Chargers after the team is coming off another embarrassing loss at home, this time to the Minnesota Vikings 39-10.
Even if some football fans will try to make the case that Minnesota is one of the most talented teams in the NFL, this still doesn’t make it acceptable for Los Angeles to lose this bad at home.
Once the offseason arrives, there’s a good chance the Chargers will be making numerous changes to both the roster and coaching staff.
Could one of those changes happen to be Anthony Lynn at head coach? The Chargers head coach has certainly seen plenty of bright moments over the years, but this season has been difficult to defend Lynn when seeing how the Chargers have looked at times.
Since it was only last season in which Los Angeles finished with a 12-4 record, the team may be more open to giving Lynn another chance in 2020.
But also, just like some of the other situations with the teams already discussed, the last thing the Chargers can afford is to give Lynn another shot, only to have it backfire.
