16. OLB Shaq Barrett, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

2019 Salary: $4,000,000

Where he will sign: Arizona Cardinals

Shaq Barrett bet on himself during 2019 NFL free agency, inking a one-year, $4 million deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now, in the midst of a career year during which he’s among the league leaders in sacks, it’s easy to imagine him cashing in during the 2020 offseason.

The Buccaneers will absolutely show interest in inking him to a new, long-term deal. However, unless they’re willing to slap him with the franchise tag, Barrett will likely see what other options are available out there. A couple of teams come to mind as potential landing spots, but I believe the Arizona Cardinals could become his new NFL home.

The Cardinals will be looking for a long-term solution off the edge this upcoming offseason. They’ve struggled to get after opposing quarterbacks recently, and can’t afford to ignore the future of their pass rush any longer. Signing Barrett would be an easy answer to that problem.

Some may see Barrett as a one-year wonder of sorts, but he was a menace during his time with the Broncos as well. It’s clear he’s ready to be an impact player for whichever team wants him, and the Cardinals seem like a safe bet to give him the big-money deal he’s looking for.
