14. DE Yannick Ngakoue, Jacksonville Jaguars

2019 Salary: $2,239,044

Where he will sign: Miami Dolphins

It’s been a down year for Yannick Ngakoue, who quickly went from a 2016 third-round pick to a Pro-Bowl caliber pass rusher in 2017. Although still a capable edge rusher who uses speed and athleticism to get after quarterbacks, he needs to finish strong to land a big-money deal.

Even if he doesn’t, some team will be willing to hand him a blank check. We’ve seen his potential, as he averaged nearly 10 sacks per season through his first three years with the Jacksonville Jaguars. For a pass-rush needy team, that should be more than enough to convince them to open their wallets and invest in Ngakoue.

One team that has plenty of cap space to spend and desperately needs more sack potential is the Miami Dolphins. They’re currently ranked dead last in the NFL in sacks (16 through 12 games), with Taco Charlton leading the way with five. The next best behind him is Sam Eguavoen, a former undrafted free agent who has tallied 2.5 quarterback takedowns.

It’s a bad situation for Miami right now, which means they’ll be searching far and wide for more pressure in 2020. Ngakoue’s down 2019 campaign could scare away other clubs, but the Dolphins are in the perfect position to throw big bucks at the Maryland product this offseason.
