6. DE Chris Jones, Kansas City Chiefs

2019 Salary: $1,982,665

Where he will sign: Las Vegas Raiders

Despite having a bit of a down year (relatively), Chris Jones still figures to cash in during 2020 NFL free agency. Whether or not it’s the Kansas City Chiefs dishing out a huge deal to earn his signature, though, isn’t as inevitable of a determination.

Put simply, Jones is going to be very expensive. Defensive line talent like himself isn’t easy to come by, which is why he’ll likely command a massive contract that could potentially make him the highest-paid defender in the NFL. Seeing as the Chiefs have plenty of other players to pay this offseason, I’m going to take the bold approach and say they let Jones hit the open market.

After what’s turned out to be an underwhelming season, you know the Raiders will be looking to make as many splashes as is reasonable during 2020 NFL free agency. They’ve got enough money to work with, even if they were to sign Peters as I predicted earlier.

Bringing aboard Jones would be a huge get for the Raiders. While they’ve got some quality talent already along the defensive line, adding Jones to the mix would ensure an even better front four in 2020 that can help them contend with the many other high-octane offenses they face within the AFC West.
