5. QB Tom Brady, New England Patriots

2019 Salary: $21,500,000

Where he will sign: New England Patriots

Let’s be honest — Tom Brady isn’t playing for another other than the New England Patriots. That’s just the fact of the matter regardless of which way you choose to view the situation. The Brady-Belichick duo is just too good to break up when the former is still playing quality football.

With all of that said, it’s unclear how many more quality years Brady has in him. As we’ve seen this season, Father Time is starting to catch up with the GOAT. The Patriots have been lucky enough to sport an elite defense, because the offense hasn’t been nearly as efficient as years passed — especially when it comes to the passing game.

Put simply, Brady is starting to slow down. And it’s understandable considering he’s currently in his age-42 campaign. Sooner or later, he was bound to hit a wall. While I don’t think he’s quite there yet, he will be eventually.

For now, the Patriots bring back Brady for yet another run at a Super Bowl. Belichick finds ways to camouflage his declining skills while beginning to put more stock in grooming an eventual replacement. The deal isn’t very long but assures New England fans at least another couple of years of watching Brady under center.
