On the heels of NFL Week 15, a look at Lamar Jackson’s longevity, Eli Manning’s Hall of Fame candidacy, a new mini mock draft and more in the NFL Notebook.

“Lamar Lamar Lamar.” That’s just one of the many texts I sent to people when I implored them to draft Lamar Jackson for the 2019 fantasy football season. I revisited some old texts I sent to friends prior to the NFL season and let’s just say I did a little more than text Lamar’s name three times.

Now that Jackson has rushed for the most yards by a quarterback in a single season, I could really pile on the receipts. I’ve got articles and tweets and texts all telling you to expect a breakout campaign from Jackson.

Maybe that’s why it’s so weird that this week, I’m not praising Jackson. I’ll let everyone else do that for now. There’s something about Jackson that can affect his entire career, let alone his team, and I look at how it can be prevented.

What else is going down in my largest NFL Notebook to date?

  • The State of Florida football suffers from a lack of good football, unless you like high school football
  • Why Eli Manning is probably not a Hall of Famer
  • The Jets and Browns need major face-lifts
  • The Jaguars need way more than a major facelift
  • Does your team need a running back? It’s a loaded class, so wait and take Cam Akers
  • My weekly awards are not kind to referees, again
  • My last mini mock draft of the regular season!

First, what was I saying about this Lamar Jackson fellow?
