19. Trubisky tosses three touchdown passes for fifth time in 2019

Even though the Chicago Bears have officially been eliminated from the playoffs, Mitch Trubisky can still use these final two weeks to make a case for keeping the starting job under center heading into the 2020 season.

After the Bears emerged as a surprise winner of the NFC North last season, Chicago was expected to pick right up where they left off this year, which unfortunately wasn’t the case at all.

Despite coming up short this past weekend against the Green Bay Packers, the Bears were previously heating up at the perfect time with three wins in a row, but this clearly turned out to be the perfect example of too little, too late in the NFC playoff race.

Hosting the AFC West champions in the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night will be another difficult challenge for Chicago, but hopefully Trubisky can at least finish with a strong enough performance to make fans feel better about next season.

Otherwise, Trubisky better start preparing for an offseason filled with plenty of questions over whether he’s the right answer to run Chicago’s offense since the team could end up considering all options leading up to 2020, whether it’s free agency or the draft in April.
