14. Rams fail to score single touchdown against 49ers

Just when it seemed like the Los Angeles Rams were going to make the NFC playoff race more interesting, the defending NFC champions received a major wake-up call on Sunday during their embarrassing loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

After previously making a statement the week before by handing the Seattle Seahawks a loss, the Rams seemed like they were going to march into Dallas and prevent the Cowboys once again from beating a team with a winning record.

Instead, this game was well over by halftime, as Los Angeles would go on to lose 44-21, and be on the verge of officially being eliminated since they would need to win their final two games while receiving some help from the Minnesota Vikings in the process.

In other words, it looks like the Rams will be watching the playoffs from home come January, although this isn’t going to prevent them from giving it their all Saturday night when facing the San Francisco 49ers.

As bad as it sounds for the Rams, after watching the 49ers come up short the way they did against the Atlanta Falcons to slip from the top overall seed to a Wild Card spot, one can only imagine how motivated San Francisco is going to be when facing Los Angeles.

Since the Rams were only to put up seven points during the first meeting between these two NFC West rivals, if Los Angeles failed to find the end zone once this time around, it really wouldn’t be that much of a surprise at all.
