The Dallas Cowboys have some decisions to make at tight end in 2020. Here are five free agents they could consider adding to help at the position.

This season, the Dallas Cowboys have primarily used two tight ends as Jason Witten has been the starter with Blake Jarwin coming in as the No. 2 guy. Their third option is Dalton Schultz, but the second-year player has just one reception for six yards.

None of these players are Pro Bowlers at this point in their career and the team will have some tough decisions to make at the position in 2020. They not only have two of their own players hitting free agency, but also need to decide whether they want to use the draft of free agency to find their long-term starter — unless they think that could be Jarwin.

With that being said, we look at five players who are scheduled for free agency that could be targeted by the Cowboys.

Their own: Jason Witten, Blake Jarwin

Dallas convinced Jason Witten to end his retirement and he’s rewarded them with 57 receptions for 491 yards and four touchdowns. However, he’s going to be 38 next season and while he’s second in receptions on the team, he’s only fourth in yardage since he has just 8.6 yards per catch.

Their real question will be if Blake Jarwin can take over for him. Jarwin averages 11.7 yards per catch and is having his best season with 30 receptions for 351 yards and three touchdowns.

There’s no telling if either — or both — will be retained. But that is the question they need to answer first.
