Admittedly, this potential free-agent acquisition remains highly unlikely, but crazier things have happened, right?

Amari Cooper is scheduled to become a free agent at the end of the 2019 season, but it’s hard to imagine the Dallas Cowboys would let him walk away without even offering him a second contract. After all, Dallas traded a first-round pick for Cooper just last season, so it makes sense that they’d want to lock him up long-term.

If for some reason the Cowboys elect to allow Cooper to hit the open market, however, the Packers should offer the talented 25-year-old whatever he wants. Already having spent five years in the league, Cooper offers a rare blend of experience, youth and upside, something that almost every team in the NFL would buy into.

Cooper has eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark and 70 receptions in four of his five seasons in the league. The three-time Pro Bowl receiver also has 33 touchdowns in 75 career games. He’s also one of the best route runners in the entire league.

As if it needed to be said, Cooper will command a top-five contract for all wide receivers in terms of average annual salary. If he becomes available, he’d be well worth the asking price.
