2. Rivers lights up Raiders secondary

The Los Angeles Chargers will play their last game in LA for the 2019 season, and so will Philip Rivers, at least as a Charger. The writing has been on the wall for a while now. Rivers has faced withering criticism for poor play in 2019, and despite a career with more ups than downs, Rivers’ time with the Bolts looks to be winding down.

The Chargers quarterback will have a monster kind of day on Sunday. Week 16 in Los Angeles will be a reminder to fans of better days despite a 5-9 record. Rivers, who still lives in San Diego, will have one more good day in front of the home fans before the Chargers finish the season Week 17 in Kansas City.

Rivers can still sling it, and on Sunday, against a beleaguered Raiders team, he will. Chargers fans can expect 300 plus yards and four touchdowns to close out the 2019 home slate. Los Angeles, going nowhere this season, will split the season with their AFC West rivals before a sure beatdown in the season finale against the Chiefs.

It’s anyone’s guess whether Rivers continues in either LA or in the NFL. He’s a quarterback who always seemed on the cusp but never having enough to get there. Against a longtime franchise rival, Rivers will send Oakland to Las Vegas with one last trip to the woodshed.
